In response to the changed geopolitical environment, KfW as a shareholder of KfW Capital decided on 1 April 2025 to update the rules for KfW Capital on the financing of enterprises of the security and defence industry and adapt them to those of KfW.

KfW Capital is expected to start investing in exceptional technology start-ups from key innovation and transformation areas together with VC funds from its portfolio in the first half of the year. In an interview with Bloomberg, Dr. Jörg Goschin, CEO of KfW Capital, explains further details about this programme.

KfW Capital launches co-operation with ESMT Berlin and the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management for the 'Venture Education' programmes: As part of the WIN (Growth and Innovation Capital for Germany) initiative, KfW Capital is providing new impetus to help qualify future venture capital investors.
